Bain could only miss one game, but should Celtic still sign a goalkeeper?

Scott Bain will reportedly miss just one game with a hand injury, despite initial fears that he could be sidelined for a prolonged spell, but should Celtic still look to sign a goalkeeper?

According to the Herald, Bain’s hand problem is not as bad as first feared and the 27-year-old will only miss the Dunfermline game this weekend, despite reports suggesting he could be out for two months of the season.

But do Celtic still need to sign another goalkeeper?

While it is clearly good news that Celtic’s current number one is not seriously injured and will be fit to return to action following the Dunfermline clash, his start to the season has been less than convincing.

Errors against Motherwell and CFR Cluj respectively have resulted in calls for the Hoops to invest in another keeper to compete with Bain, with Fraser Forster being the main man linked with a move currently. 

A move for the Southampton man would certainly strengthen Lennon’s options in goal, and give Bain some serious competition to be Celtic’s first choice.
