Christopher Jullien has the potential to make a huge impact at Celtic, even enjoying a Virgil van Dijk-esque level of influence.
The 26-year-old moved to Parkhead from Toulouse this summer, in what was an exciting capture by the Hoops.
Speaking to The Athletic, French football writer Andrew Gibney sees comparisons between Jullien and ex-Celtic man Van Dijk:
When you watch him at his best you can see a kind of (Virgil) Van Dijk. He’s good on the ball, he can pass with both feet, can find guys out wide.
There’s a French thing which they hammer into young kids, of defensive midfielders who can play centre back, and centre backs who can play in defensive midfield.
You need to be technically proficient on the ball, and that distribution is something he’s very good at.

Comparing any current centre-back to Van Dijk is a huge call, considering the Liverpool star is widely regarded as the best centre-back in the world currently.
The Dutchman made his name in British football at Celtic, where he was colossal for two seasons between 2013 and 2015.
It is clear to see why Jullien has been likened to Van Dijk, with his stature and composure on the ball instantly similar.
Celtic’s new signing could be a massive addition if he hits the ground running, forging a centre-back partnership with Kristoffer Ajer, who is rumoured to be on the verge of signing a new Hoops deal.
