Edouard loves his Stone Roses chant – Why supporters will want to sing it at every game

Odsonne Edouard has revealed his delight with the ‘I wanna be Edouard’ song that has taken social media by storm this season, and Celtic supporters will be singing it all season after the striker’s comments about the chant.
Speaking to the Celtic View, Edouard revealed he is spurred on by it every time the Hoops faithful sing the song, and the chant inspires him to raise his game while he is on the pitch.
I hear the Celtic supporters singing the Stone Roses song with my name in place. I like it, and it drives me on when I’m on the pitch. It’s normally when I’ve played well, I’ve scored a goal or I’ve been close to scoring

The Stone Roses aren’t really my style of music, I’m more into rap music, so it’s not normally the kind of song I’d listen to in my own time. But I love listening to it during the game! Hearing the Celtic fans singing it makes me want to play well and work harder for them. That makes me smile.

‘I wanna be Edouard’ is quite possibly our favourite chant around at the moment, and is a serious contender for football song of the year.
Celtic supporters will now be looking to inspire the Frenchman at every game this season, following his comments that the chant makes him work harder and play well, starting with Thursday’s Europa League first leg play-off tie against AIK.
