Charly Musonda has opened up about his loan spell with Celtic and claims he does not have any “regrets” about the move, before stating his intentions to play for Chelsea in the future.
In an interview with the Independent, Musonda revealed that despite a troubled loan spell with Celtic, he does not regret joining the Hoops on loan and has no issue with Rodgers.
I have no regrets about my time at Celtic. I have no problems with Brendan Rodgers. He tried to develop me, he treated me well in training. You can’t dwell on it.

I want to show the world what I can do and, if I prove I’m still the same Charly Musonda, I’m 100% confident I can break back into the Chelsea team. Maybe it’s me being a bit naive or overconfident or just believing I can do it, but that has been my dream since I was 15 years old and that’s never changed. I want to wear the Chelsea shirt one more time
But did he show enough to suggest he is Premier League quality at Parkhead? Or does he have the talent but was simply unlucky under Brendan Rodgers?

While the answer is a bit of both, it’s safe to say Musonda’s time at Parkhead was certainly underwhelming.
The winger played just eight times for Celtic, and his time with the Hoops was cut short to just six months despite initially signing on an 18-month loan deal.

However he has clearly always had the talent to become a highly impressive player, given how highly Chelsea regard him, and if he is as determined as his interview suggests then he could well make strides to break into Chelsea’s first team in the future.
The 22-year-old was also hailed as a “prodigy” by Odsonne Edouard, who labelled the Belgian that in repose to a social media post, so perhaps he was just unfortunate during his loan spell with Celtic.
