Celtic supporters react to timing of Forster announcement

Celtic announced the signing of Fraser Forster midway through the first half of Thursday’s Europa League first leg tie against AIK, to the confusion of many supporters.

Though the deal appeared all but complete prior to kick-off, Celtic Tweeted the announcement at 8:20pm on Thursday night, 35 minutes into the first half at Parkhead.

And these supporters reacted to the timing of the announcement, suggesting that they should perhaps be focused with matters on the pitch rather than the Twitter announcement.

While fans will clearly be delighted to see Forster return to the club, making the announcement during the first half of any game, let alone one of the importance of last night’s.

However, what really matters is that Celtic have completed the signing and strengthen their options in goal; something many wanted to see them do.

And though it is a big step in the right direction with a positive result last night and re-signing the Southampton keeper, there is still work to do in the transfer window to strengthen further.
