Celtic supporters react as Leigh Griffiths is left out of Scotland squad

Leigh Griffiths has been left out of Scotland’s squad to face Russia and Belgium in their Euro 2020 qualifiers next month, and many Hoops supporters are not happy with Steve Clarke.

The former Killie boss made the announcement on Tuesday, with Ryan Christie, James Forrest and Callum McGregor all named in the 24-man squad.

However, Griffiths’ exclusion has left many supporters scratching their heads, with many shocked to see the striker miss out.

Griffiths certainly appears to have been hard done by following an impressive start to the season when he has been fit.

The 29-year-old has scored three times in seven appearances in all competitions so far this campaign, and also marked a surprise appearance for Celtic’s Reserves with a well taken penalty in a 4-2 win over Dundee.

Clarke did reveal the striker was close to making the squad, but felt it was too early following his return to football this season to include him.
