Miller calls for increase in Celtic’s Ibrox ticket allocation – Should more be made available for fans?

Charlie Miller has called for his former club to increase Celtic’s ticket allocation in the future to make the meeting “a proper derby” once again, so should the Hoops be given more tickets?

According to the Scotsman, Miller revealed he understood Rangers’ decision to reduce Celtic’s Ibrox allocation last season, but believes his former side should allow more Hoops supporters in from now on in order to add to the atmosphere.

Last year I’d have restricted the fans, 100 per cent because they were too far ahead of us and we were giving them every opportunity to give us a doing in our own stadium, with 7000 of them celebrating behind one goal.

But this year it’s closer and I’d have given them the Celtic end back, let’s go for it. If Rangers think they’ve come as far as they believe they have, let’s make it a proper derby.

So does Miller have a point?

The former Rangers man certainly explains his view with honesty, and his point about the decision to reduce Celtic’s allocation last season is spot on.

It was a frustrating, yet understandable decision to make from a Rangers perspective last season, as it did help the home side have the edge at Ibrox in the final Glasgow derby of last season.

However from a Celtic perspective, as previously mentioned, it was incredibly frustrating and somewhat unfair to not have a larger allocation, with many supporters having to miss out on the trip to Ibrox.

And as Miller says, the amount of tickets available to Hoops fans should have been increased this season to both increase the chances of supporters being able to watch the match, but also to add to the atmosphere.
