Some fans are happy, but these supporters are not convinced by Bauer signing

Many Celtic supporters have offered mixed opinions on the surprise signing of full-back Moritz Bauer, with some seeing the move as a positive while others are less convinced.

Celtic confirmed the signing of the Stoke City man on Tuesday, with the Hoops agreeing an initial loan deal with the option to buy at the end of the season.

While it is easy to understand the frustrations of those who are not happy given how late in the transfer window Celtic have left it to sign Bauer, there are certainly positives to take.

The Hoops have initially signed him on loan and can therefore have time to make a full judgement on the Austrian prior to deciding whether he is good enough to sign permanently.

Furthermore, he will offer strong competition to Hatem Abd Elhamed at right-back, with Neil Lennon now having two strong options to choose from.

The Celtic boss will also have the chance to tinker with his tactical decisions this season, with Elhamed’s ability to play at centre-back allowing him to deploy Bauer at right-back and shift the Israeli into a back three.
