Wanyama pictured in Tottenham training amid Brugge rumours – Why Celtic should make a late move

Victor Wanyama was seen training for Tottenham Hotspur on Friday despite rumours of a move to Club Brugge, so should Celtic look to make a late attempt to sign him?

According to a Spurs fan account on Twitter, Wanyama trained with the Spurs squad on Friday despite reports emerging earlier this week from talkSPORT stating that he had completed a move to Brugge.

So should the Hoops look to make a late bid for the midfielder and bring him back to Parkhead?

While there is nothing to suggest that Celtic are currently interested in bringing Wanyama home to Parkhead, a move for the midfielder would certainly go down well with many supporters.

Mauricio Pochettino confirmed earlier on Friday that there was no new update on the future of Wanyama despite the Brugge links, according to Football London, meaning there is still a chance should the Hoops decide to make a move.

And while Celtic are unlikely to fork out the reported £13million Brugge are said to be ready to offer, a loan move could suit both sides involved, given Spurs’ willingness to allow the midfielder to leave on loan.

So at this stage a deal does seem unlikely, however the signing of Moritz Bauer came as a surprise to many and after missing out on the likes of Edson Alvarez this summer, re-signing Wanyama would certainly be a fine piece of business.
