Sinclair included in Europa League squad – Does he have a future at Celtic?

Scott Sinclair’s future at Celtic continues to be subject to speculation despite the closure of the transfer window, with some reports suggesting he may well terminate his contract with the club in order to force a move away.

That appears unlikely, however, especially after the Daily Record revealed that Celtic included the winger in their squad for the Europa League this season.

So does that mean he still has a future at Celtic?

Many have been confused and surprised at the unwillingness of Neil Lennon to even include Sinclair in the recent match-day squads.

The winger has played just 11 minutes of league football this season, taking his total to 56 minutes of game time in all competitions, and he was reportedly eyeing a move away from the club in the transfer window.

Sinclair rejected a move to the MLS, however, while deals with Derby County and Sunderland failed to come to fruition despite intense speculation.

And while his inclusion in the Europa League squad does not guarantee him a place in the side, at least it provides the winger with some hope that he may be given a rare chance to impress somewhere along the line.
