Odsonne Edouard has dropped a hint that he would potentially be open to a return to Paris Saint-Germain in the future, though his comments do also offer a slight bit of positivity for Celtic.

According to Get French Football News, Eddy spoke to Canal Plus after his impressive international break for France’s Under-21s and revealed PSG will always be in his heart.

Things are working well (with Celtic), but it is down to work. I give everything and that is also important on the pitch. PSG is the club of my heart, I still have friends of mine over there who grew up with me in the youth set-up. For the moment, it is not really in my head (to come back to PSG). For the moment I am playing, I am enjoying myself and we will see what happens in the future.

So what are the positives and negatives to take from his comments?

Firstly, Eddy has stated that he is currently happy at Celtic and is not looking for an immediate return to the French capital, which is good news for the Hoops in the shorter term.

However, while he hasn’t stated that he will definitely return to the French champions in the future, he has hinted that he would be tempted by a move back in the “future,” which is understandable.

How much is Eddy worth in today's market?

And although there is a sense of inevitability with regards to Eddy leaving the club in the future, with many seeing similarities to Moussa Dembele’s switch to Lyon, hearing Eddy openly talk about a potential move in the future is a blow.

Another slight positive, though, is at least Celtic have plenty of time to scout a replacement and line up alternative options.
