Vidic opens up about intimidating Parkhead atmosphere - Celtic must take advantage of this in the Europa League

Manchester United legend Nemanja Vidic has revealed that he always felt intimidated playing against Celtic at Parkhead, and that will come as a big boost for the Hoops ahead of the Europa League campaign.

According to the Express, via The Athletic, Vidic named Parkhead as one of the most intimidating stadiums to play at when questioned about the toughest grounds to play at with regards to the atmosphere.

They were [daunting] in Naples, which had a reputation for being loud and intimidating. When you have played at Red Star you don’t really get intimidated. Maybe only at Celtic Park for the first 10 minutes of a game when the fans breathe fire towards the players. I loved playing at Celtic and felt like it was my mentality that I had grown up with.

The players and supporters already know how much of a special and atmospheric place Parkhead is, especially on Glasgow Derby day and on European nights under the lights.

However, to hear that from one of the Premier League’s greatest ever defenders will give the Hoops a positive boost ahead of the Europa League group stages.

Lazio, Stade Rennais and CFR Cluj will all arrive in Glasgow knowing they’re about to face a Parkhead faithful who will be in their faces behind the Bhoys all the way.

Celtic must take advantage of this psychological boost and pile further pressure on their opponents at Parkhead, and doing so will put them in a great position to progress from the group stages.
