Celtic’s assurances influenced Frimpong’s move – Will he get a chance this season?

Jeremie Frimpong is said to have joined Celtic this summer after being happy with the assurances the Hoops offered him, so will he get a chance in the first-team this season?

According to a Football Insider exclusive, sources close to the defender have revealed that Celtic convinced him to leave Manchester City by their plans to ensure he develops as a footballer, with his first team opportunities looking extremely limited at the Etihad Stadium.

So does this mean we are likely to see him in the first-team this season?

It certainly seems likely that Frimpong will feature in the first-team at some point this season, with Celtic said to see him as a player who will both improve in the future but can also compete for a starting spot.

And given Celtic’s upcoming congested run of fixtures coming up following the international break, Frimpong could benefit from squad rotation, however he will have to impress in training to start ahead of the likes of Hatem Abd Elhamed and Moritz Bauer.
