Rodgers backed to sign Forrest next summer – can the Hoops keep him?

Former Scotland defender Alan Hutton has tipped Leicester City and Brendan Rodgers to make a move to sign James Forrest next summer.

Speaking Football Insider, the former Aston Villa man believes that Forrest would thrive at the King Power Stadium.

I just see him maybe flourishing at a team like Leicester or maybe one of these type of teams – obviously a manager that knows him well. I really think he’s got everything that it takes to make it down in the big league.

Should Celtic fans be worried? Can the Hoops keep him from the lure of the Premier League?

Brendan Rodgers has been heavily linked with a number of Celtic players since his move away from the club, so it comes as no surprise to see Forrest’s name mentioned.

He has been one of the club’s key men for some time now, so if nothing else, it’s good to see his performances get the recognition that they deserve.

With the winger now adding goals to his game, he would thrive in the Premier League, but Celtic fans should feel confident about their chances of keeping the player.

The Hoops have every chance of keeping him if they can convince him to become and develop into a leader within the squad.

Already an influential player under Neil Lennon, Forrest should be given the opportunity to become the star man as the club go in search of 10-in-a-row.
