Griffiths ruled out of Rennes clash – He’ll be missed
Celtic forward Leigh Griffiths has been ruled out of tonight’s Europa League encounter with Rennes, according to a report on the Evening Times.
The Scottish champions travel to France to take on the Ligue 1 side in the opening group match of their Europa League campaign.
Manager Neil Lennon confirmed that forward Griffiths will play no part in the match after suffering a slight thigh injury. He said:
Leigh Griffiths picked up a thigh knock so he hasn’t travelled.
He should be good for the weekend.
How big a blow is this for Celtic?

Griffiths missing out is pretty bad news for the Hoops.
Although Odsonne Edouard is the number one striker at the moment, Griffiths possesses the capability to change a game within a matter of minutes.
Do you think Celtic will win against Rennes tonight?
Yes
No
He also has vast experience in big games for the club, so not having him available to call upon will be disappointing for Lennon.
It was already unlikely that Griffiths would be selected from the start, but having him available for selection would have been a massive boost. Let’s hope he recovers from this thigh problem quickly.
