Fans praise Celtic’s decision to hold a minute’s applause for Fernando Ricksen

Celtic supporters have praised the club’s decision to hold a minute’s applause for former Rangers star Fernando Ricksen prior to Sunday’s clash with Kilmarnock.
Ricksen sadly passed away earlier this week following a length battle with Motor Neurone Disease, and Rangers held a minute’s silence before their Europa League tie with Feyenoord on Thursday, before another tribute in the second minute of the game.
And Celtic confirmed on Friday that a minute’s applause would be held at Parkhead on Sunday in Ricksen’s memory; a decision that these supporters from both clubs have greeted with positivity.

It’s very nice to see this from Celtic, with rivalries rightly cast aside as football comes together to remember the former Rangers star.
Our thoughts and condolences go out to Ricksen’s family and friends, and those at Rangers.
