Ever since Kieran Tierney made his transfer from Celtic to Arsenal he hasn’t played a minute yet for the first team. The ex-Celtic player was unlucky to sustain a hip injury on arrival which means he has not yet received any playing minutes in London. But now there is an update: the left-back is already back on the training field and should be ready to play for Arsenal early October.
Right-back Bellerin and Tierney have been spotted on the training field and it appears both players are on the way to recovery. Both players have been working towards their comebacks in recent weeks and will get some much-needed minutes for the Under-23s.
Tierney has not played for the club since his summer transfer from Celtic after undergoing surgery last season and the fans are eager to see their new signing be a part of the Arsenal starting eleven. Likely, the Scottish international will play his first game against Standard Liège in the Europa League.
If you ask former Arsenal and West Ham legend Nigel Winterburn, the 22-year-old defender will make it at Arsenal. “The Premier League is the most brutal league in the world, especially for defenders, but Kieran Tierney is a sensational signing and will have no problem settling in. He is a young player who has gained huge experience at Celtic, he has also played Champions League football so will be used to the quality of football,” he said in an exclusive interview.
Though Celtic fans were sad to see their left-back leave the club, they will be looking forward to seeing if their ex-player, who played more than a 100 official games for Celtic, will be able to impress in the Premier League too. The first league appearance for Tierney is likely going to be the home game against AFC Bournemouth.
