Fans react as Henrik Larsson closes in on Southend job

Henrik Larsson appears to be close to becoming the new Southend manager in a surprise move, and these fans appear to be less than convinced by the former Celtic’s star’s potential appointment. 

Following a tricky spell in charge of Helsingborgs in Sweden, Larsson’s next move looks set to be another challenge with League One Southend.

These fans however have been left confused by the potential appointment, with one Swedish football fan suggesting his reputation in his homeland is “as low as it can get.”

Larsson’s potential appointment as Southend boss is certainly a strange one.

While he was a hero at Celtic on the pitch, his record as a manager is less than convincing, emphasised by his latest spell at Helsingborgs ending in controversy.

The former striker left his boyhood club due to the amount of criticism he received following a shock cup defeat, which does not appear to bode well for Southend.

The League One outfit are currently third from bottom following an awful start to the season with eight defeats from their opening 10 games. 

Southend are already five points adrift of safety, and Larsson appears to have an incredibly tough job on his hands, should he take the job.
