Premier League side Tottenham Hotspur were hammered 2-7 by German Bundesliga champions Bayern Munich on Tuesday evening in the Champions League.
The result sent shockwaves around the globe as former Arsenal winger Serge Gnabry netted four times in the rout.
Some Celtic fans were definitely pleased to see an English side take such a beating, especially after the national media directed much negative attention towards the Hoops for their heavy defeats to Paris Saint Germain and Barcelona.

READ CELTIC VERDICT
It might be slightly petty, but these Celtic fans are actually spot on. When the Hoops were defeated heavily in the Champions League, pundits all over Britain were labelling the team as an embarrassment and focused on the negative aspects.
However, now that it has happened to an English Premier League side, the majority of the pundits are singing the praises of Bayern’s attack.
As a whole, Tottenham’s defeat is a lot more embarrassing than Celtic’s, because they were at home and also spent a lot more money. Maybe there isn’t such a gulf in class between Celtic and the Premier League’s top four after all.
