Lennon urges Celtic fans to inspire team – It’s exactly what they need

Celtic manager Neil Lennon has urged the club’s fans to motivate and inspire his players during their Europa League clash with Cluj on Thursday evening in Glasgow.

The Hoops know that victory against the Romanian side will give them a great chance of advancing into the knockout stages of the competition.

As reported on Celtic’s official Twitter account, Lennon said:

Get that sort of energy, and noise and roar from the stadium that we’ve had over the last 15, 20 years.

You ran that little bit quicker, you ran an extra yard, you felt stronger with that backing. I’m sure it’s no different for the current group of players.

We’re looking to get that energy, noise and roar from the supporters.

Do the players need that extra support?

Definitely. It’s a big European fixture so the nerves are certain to be present for all the players in the squad.

Having that extra bit of support and noise in the stadium is the sort of thing which motivates a player to give more effort for the team.

The Celtic faithful are always loud and proud and they’ll need to be at their absolute best to get the team over the line in a testing fixture.
