Callum McGregor has heaped plenty of praise on Celtic captain Scott Brown, as reported on the Daily Record
The two Scotsmen have created a healthy partnership in midfield and McGregor is relishing every minute that he gets to play alongside the skipper.

He said:
To play alongside Broony every week is a learning experience. He’s been so good with everyone in the squad, and for me to go in and play beside him as one of two controlling, then breaking from there, is amazing.
You learn every bit of the game in terms of your defensive duties and making tackles and blocks, and starting things as well. There’s a good balance to it now in terms of us controlling games and controlling space. When one of us goes ahead with the ball, the other stays.
We have that really good understanding now and that Rennes game probably epitomised the system we’ve been playing.
Why is this music to Celtic’s ears?

The club will be delighted to hear McGregor’s comments because it shows that he’ll be ready to step into Brown’s shoes once he retires.
Sometimes, there can be too much competition for places in the team and that can create an unhealthy atmosphere. However, McGregor’s comments show that Brown is happy to embrace and embed new players into midfield with him.
McGregor clearly stated that he’s learning new things all the time with Brown and that’s exactly what a club wants from the captain. Manager Neil Lennon has created a real brotherhood within the squad, which is key if they are to taste success together.
