Celtic Player Ratings: Cluj (H)

There was a night of revenge at a rain soaked Parkhead as Celtic swept aside CFR Cluj to go top of their Europa League group. 

Goals from Odsonne Edouard and Mohamed Elyounoussi in each half made it a comfortable evening for the Hoops. 

A bright start from Neil Lennon’s side saw Christopher Jullien have two headers well saved by the Cluj keeper. 

After around 20 minutes though, Celtic got their goal. Boli Bolingoli’s perfectly chipped cross found the head of Edouard who easily found the net. 

Cluj looked to have got a goal back before half time but the offside flag denied them after Fraser Forster had saved from a free kick. 

A quick break in the second half saw the ball fall to Elyounoussi just outside the box with his strike taking a deflection on its way before finding the bottom corner. 

Celtic began to tire with the Romanians seeing more of the ball but really struggled to create any clear chances. 

Edouard had a chance to make it three late on but good defending eventually stopped him.
