Celtic Player Ratings: Livingston (A)

10-man Celtic lost their first league game of this season 2-0 away at Livingston. Goals from Scott Robinson and Lyndon Dykes downed the Hoops.

Ryan Christie was sent off in the 27th minute after a horrendous tackle on Robbie Crawford. The referee got it right and there can be no debates on that.

Thereafter, Neil Lennon’s men did come back well until the end of the first half, with half chances falling to Callum McGregor and Odsonne Edouard.

Just at the start of the second half, Livingston got themselves ahead when Crawford found Robinson with a through ball and the latter thrashed his effort into the back of the net.

Celtic had a couple of chances after that to equal things up, but Edouard’s free-kick was straight at the Livi keeper and Mohamed Elyounoussi’s near-post effort was cleared.

18 minutes from time, Dykes made it 2-0 for the home side with a stunning chipped finish after a long ball from the keeper caught the Hoops flat-footed.

Once the second goal went in, any fight that Celtic had was punctured completely. They didn’t even look like creating a chance or two.

In the back end of stoppage time, Edouard had a shot deflected when Livingston sat back to protect their two-goal advantage.
