Celtic fans dismiss suggestions that the pitch was to blame for Livi defeat

Many Celtic supporters have dismissed claims that the artificial pitch at the Tony Macaroni Arena was to blame for the Hoops’ defeat to Livingston on Sunday. 

Celtic suffered their first league defeat of the season against Livi as two second half strikes were enough for the home side to dispatch of the 10-men of the Hoops.

And following the 2-0 loss, some had attempted to blame the state of the pitch for Celtic’s shortcomings. But these fans, however, were not having any of it, and instead simply admitted that the Hoops were not good enough.

READ CELTIC VERDICT

While playing on artificial surfaces is something that is certainly far from ideal, it can be used as no excuse for Celtic’s defeat on Sunday. 

The Hoops know they will have to travel to face sides on plastic pitches in the league, and must ensure they are fully prepared and capable of playing to their strengths on these surfaces in the future. 

Neil Lennon will now go away over the international break and begin his plans for Celtic’s clash with Ross County.
