Stoke eyeing move for O’Donnell – A hint that Celtic could sign Bauer permanently?

Stoke City are reportedly eyeing a move for former Celtic target Stephen O’Donnell and the Potters’ pursuit of a right-back suggests the Hoops could look to sign Moritz Bauer permanently.

According to the Stoke Sentinel, O’Donnell is a target for Championship strugglers Stoke but Middlesbrough are also keen on the right-back, who is out of contract with Kilmarnock in the summer.

Celtic have previously been linked with the Scotland international, but the loan signing of Bauer suggests that the Hoops are unlikely to go in for him once again.

Furthermore, Stoke’s interest in O’Donnell suggests they are braced for Celtic to activate their option to buy for Bauer in the summer and make the Austrian’s stay at Parkhead a permanent one.

The right-back has impressed thus far during his loan stint with the Hoops, and many would no doubt welcome the permanent signing of him in the summer.
