Chris Sutton has questioned Celtic’s attacking options beyond Odsonne Edouard and believes it is a cause for concern, but the likes of Vakoun Bayo and Leigh Griffiths would beg to differ.
Sutton suggests that while Rangers have two striking options in Alfredo Morelos and Jermain Defoe, Eddy is Celtic’s only ‘proven’ option, HITC report via BBC Radio 5Live.
You can see Rangers are building something. I worry about Celtic if the centre forward Edouard gets injured, the backup is unproven. Rangers have Morelos, who this season seems to really have settled down, they’ve got Jermain Defoe who is scoring goals, [Gerrard] is able to rotate, they’re a team with confidence.

While Eddy is clearly Celtic’s first choice striker, to suggest that Griffiths is “unproven” in the Scottish Premiership appears a bold suggestion; though you could argue that Bayo is yet to prove himself at Parkhead.
Griffiths has scored 107 goals in the Premiership, and would no doubt be a able backup to Eddy if he was to pick up an injury, with the only concern surrounding the 29-year-old being his fitness.
