Karamoko Dembele has been compared to Manchester City star Riyad Mahrez by one of the winger’s former teammates, and that certainly bodes well for Celtic.
The winger made his first team debut against Hearts in the final game of the 2018/19 season, and according to Sport Witness, impressed former Hearts defender Clevid Dikamona, who then made the Mahrez comparison.
In one against one, he has enormous abilities, he’s amazing. I knew Riyad Mahrez at Le Havre, who showed the same kind of qualities. Except that Riyad expressed them in CFA (France’s fourth tier) at the age of 19 while Karamoko is already able to evolve in the pros, at only 16 years old.

Dikamona’s comments are certainly a positive for both Dembele and Celtic, given the player Mahrez has gone on to become since he days at Le Havre.
The Algeria international captained his side to the Africa Cup of Nations during the summer, and has started the Premier League season with City in fine form.
Dembele is clearly one of Celtic’s brightest talents, and comparison’s to Mahrez certainly bode well for both the winger and the Hoops.
