Scotland supporters have directed their frustrations at Callum McGregor once again following his performance against Russia on Thursday.

The Tartan Army suffered a 4-0 defeat in Moscow as a second-half capitulation saw the hosts score four times in the space of 27 minutes to end their hopes of automatic qualification for Euro 2020.

And following the defeat, these Scotland fans voiced their discontent with McGregor’s performance.

McGregor’s performances have certainly not been up to his usual high standards, and the possibility of burnout is becoming a possibility now given the amount of football he has played in the last year.

The midfielder has played 22 times this season already for club and country, missing just one match in total; the second qualifying round tie against Nomme Kalju in the Champions League.

With Scotland’s hopes of qualifying for Euro 2020 now over and a game against San Marino next up for the Tartan Army, Steve Clarke needs to give the midfielder a break on Sunday.
