Celtic fans question Steve Clarke’s management of Callum McGregor
A number of Celtic fans have questioned Steve Clarke’s decision to play Callum McGregor against San Marino on Sunday.
The midfielder has featured heavily for club and country this season, and many expected Clarke to rest him for the Tartan Army’s tie with San Marino.
McGregor started, however, as Scotland ran out 6-0 winners at a rain-soaked Hampden Park and these fans were critical of the decision to play the midfielder.

CalMac played both games for Scotland during the international break, despite the clash with San Marino being dubbed a ‘dead rubber’ tie as Scotland’s hopes of qualification for Euro 2020 ended following the defeat to Russia.
Does McGregor need to be rested this weekend?
Yes
No
The midfielder has featured a staggering 23 times for club and country so far this season, and it’s only October.
Resting him against San Marino therefore, appeared the most sensible option given the nature of the tie, and while it may not have been his most strenuous outing of the campaign, it was still a pointless decision to start the midfielder.
