David Turnbull will be delighted by Celtic reigniting their interest in him suggest Alan Hutton, and a January move certainly makes sense if the midfielder is fit.

Hutton told Football Insider that Turnbull will be “over the moon” at the fact that Celtic are still looking to sign him after the 20-year-old failed his medical in the summer.

I can see why Celtic were in for him. It was just a shame for a young boy with what happened, going through the medical and failing it – it can be difficult. It can really harm you moving forward.

He’s got the operation to get back fit and Celtic obviously see something in him they need. At the time he’d have been disappointed but Celtic are still there and wanting him so I’m sure he’ll be over the moon with that and just looking to go from strength to strength. That must give him a real good feeling. I presume it will happen at some point.

Should Celtic sign Turnbull in January?

Yes

No

Neil Lennon is reportedly keen on bolstering his midfield options, with the likes of Turnbull and Victor Wanyama both linked with a move.

And Celtic are understood to be keen on submitting another offer of £3.25million for Turnbull once again, as they did in the previous window.
