Celtic fans react to club’s Tweet about Artur Boruc
Some Celtic fans have criticised the club’s Twitter account for reminding them of a season they would rather forget.
In what was meant to be a positive post, Celtic posted video on Twitter of Artur Boruc’s world-class save against Hibernian in 2009, when he tipped David Wotherspoon’s rasping volley onto the post.
However these fans did not want to be reminded of a season which ultimately ended in disappointment.

While Boruc’s save in that match was an incredible stop and prevented Wotherspoon with what would have been a memorable goal, that season does not live long in the memory.
After a relatively good start in the league under new boss Tony Mowbray, the Hoops’ defeat to Rangers in the first Glasgow Derby of that campaign set the tone for an inconsistent run in to Christmas in all competitions.
The New Year did not spark a revival, and the disappointing 2-1 defeat to Hibs at home saw Celtic fall 10 points behind Rangers in the league.
The humbling and infamous 4-0 defeat to St Mirren in March was to be the final straw for Mowbray, who was sacked one day after the loss, with the Hoops still 10 points adrift.
Will Celtic win the league this season?
Yes
No
Defeat to Ross County in the Scottish Cup semi-final encapsulated what was a poor campaign and ensured Celtic ended the season without any silverware, though Neil Lennon steadied the ship as caretaker manager to secure second place in the league.
It is understandable therefore, that fans did not want to be reminded of this season following the club’s post about Boruc’s save; though nobody can deny how brilliant the stop is.
