Opposition Dangerman: Ross County (H)
Celtic host Ross County on Saturday afternoon as they look to get their league defence back on track.
Neil Lennon’s side have failed to win in their last two league games, salvaging a point at Easter Road and succumbing to a 2-0 defeat at the hands of Livingston.
The hosts will be without one of their star performers this season, as Ryan Christie serves the first of his two match ban after his horror, red-card tackle against Livingston before the international break.
Getting the three points on Saturday is crucial for the Hoops as they look to put the pressure on Rangers, who face Hearts on Sunday.
However, Saturday’s opponents have made a strong and solid start to life back in the Premiership as the Staggies sit comfortably in 5th.
With convincing performances and wins against Motherwell, St Mirren and Hamilton respectively, as well as three impressive draws, Ross County have only suffered two defeats this season.
Saturday’s run out will be no gimme for the home side, with the visitors filled with talented and youthful stars and there’s one forward in particular who the Hoops will need to be aware of.
ROSS STEWART
The 23-year-old striker has already bagged four league goals this campaign as well as an additional four during the Staggies Betfred Cup group stage.
His last came four weeks ago in the victory over Motherwell so he’ll be looking to get his tally going again.
It’s not only his finishing touch that the Hoops need to look out for, his physical frame has caused bother for most defenders this season with his hold up play exemplary, which makes him our, oposition dangerman.
