Rangers had the chance to return to the top of the league table with a win at Hearts, but they could only manage a draw partly due to James Tavernier’s horrendous error which gifted the home side an early goal.

After the game, Celtic fans, overjoyed that their team sit top of the table, albeit by the thinnest of margins, were quick to take to Twitter to discuss the Rangers captain, and it’s fair to say that not many of them think he’s a very good footballer.

Is James Tavernier good enough to play for Celtic?

A quick search of ‘James Tavernier’ on Twitter will show just how upset Rangers fans are with their captain, with plenty calling for him to be dropped from their side.

The Celtic fans who say he wouldn’t get a game for the Hoops are right too, in our opinion. Neil Lennon has better options than Tavernier, who we think it simply too error-prone to be classed as a top player.
