Bolingoli believes Edouard can emulate Lukaku – He makes a good point

Boli Bolingoli has tipped Odsonne Edouard to become as good as Romelu Lukaku in the future, and the left-back certainly makes a good point.

Eddy has started the season in prolific form for club and country, adding to his tally against Ross County last weekend, and many have made comparisons to the likes of Alfredo Morelos and Moussa Dembele.

Boli chose a different player in Lukaku, and he is well positioned to make a comparison to the Inter Milan striker given how he is his cousin.

And according to the Daily Record, the 24-year-old believes Eddy is good enough to reach the same level as Belgium’s all-time leading goalscorer.

You see how good he is every day. Even with the national team. He shows his quality every time he plays and for me he is a big talented player and I can only wish him all the best in his career.

He is going to get better and better. For sure he can go to the level of Romelu. Odsonne is still young and is still progressing but in time, for me, he can become a big striker in the football world. The boy has qualities and we have so many qualities in the team to help him.

It’s difficult to argue with Bolingoli’s point and the comparison to Lukaku.

Although they can be considered as different types of strikers, with the Belgian arguably a more of a powerhouse while Eddy has more finesse and is more of an all-round forward, both have an incredible eye for goal.

Using stats on Transfermarkt, both have a goals to game ratio of around a goal every two games, with Lukaku’s a slightly higher ratio at 2.1 to Eddy’s 2.6 – though the former has clearly played in more matches than the latter.
