Neil Lennon has been urged to loan Leigh Griffiths out in January, but would that be a good call for Celtic?
According to the Daily Record’s Scott McDermott, Lennon should look to loan Griffiths out in January to get his fitness back on track and help the striker rediscover his goalscoring form.
He has a contract at Parkhead until summer 2022. If he’s willing to settle for cameo performances from the bench, he can. But that’s not the same Griffiths who’s had an insatiable appetite for goals from when he was a kid at Livingston.

To score, and get match sharpness, he needs to play. That’s why Lennon and Celtic should look to get him out on loan in the next window.
So would it be a good move to let the striker leave in January?

Loaning Griffiths in the transfer window would certainly be a strange decision, if Celtic were to take McDermott’s advice.
With the Hoops still in with a chance of progressing into the knockout stages of the Europa League and competing on all fronts domestically, squad rotation will be necessary throughout the campaign.
The Hoops currently have just Odsonne Edouard, Griff and Vakoun Bayo at their disposal when it comes to striking options, and limiting that to just two available forwards would not be a smart move in my opinion.
While his game time has been limited so far this season, the 29-year-old has looked bright when given the chance, scoring three and creating one assist in all competitions.
