Scott Bain has signed a new four-year deal with Scottish champions Celtic, as reported on the official club website.
The shot-stopper will remain at Celtic Park until at least the summer of 2023 after the extension.
Bain signed for Celtic on a permanent basis in May 2018 and has been impressive for the Hoops whenever he has featured between the sticks.
Bain suffered an injury in mid-August and once he returns, he will contend for a first-team spot with Fraser Forster and Craig Gordon.
Is this a good move from the Hoops?
READ CELTIC VERDICT
Absolutely. To secure the long-term future of Bain just a day after announcing James Forrest’s new deal shows that the club are not holding back in keeping their players at the club.
Bain is also a talented shot-stopper and if the club can’t secure Forster on a permanent basis at the end of the season, then Bain should be more than capable of being the team’s number one.
The deal also raises questions about the future of Gordon, who is in the last year of his contract with the club.
