Former Celtic man Chris Sutton believes that this season’s Scottish Premiership title race could cost Neil Lennon or Steve Gerrard their job.
Both teams have made great starts to the league campaign and are also doing well in the UEFA Europa League.

Sutton, who is now a pundit, feels that whoever misses out on the title could lose their job. As quoted on the Express, he said:
That’s the pressure of managing Celtic and Rangers.
If I’m honest, the team that finishes second in the league… I don’t see their manager lasting to next season. It’s that big.
Could Sutton be right?

Gerrard needs to win some silverware quickly. He’s built a decent side but needs to back it up with trophies so if Celtic beat them to the title, then that could be the end for the former Liverpool midfielder.
As for Celtic, missing out on the title probably wouldn’t cost Lennon his job. They’re doing well in the cup competitions and the general mood and feeling around the club is a positive one.
Sutton is right about the pressure of managing these two giants. Whoever misses out on the title, their job will come under heavy scrutiny.
