Neil Lennon has confirmed that Celtic are in talks with “one or two players” with regards to new contracts whilst also revealing another who the Hoops may open discussions with, and that is a huge positive for the club.
According to the Daily Record, Lennon has revealed that Celtic are negotiating a new deal with Callum McGregor while the Hoops will also considered beginning talks with Kristoffer Ajer in the future.
We’re talking to one or two players, so hopefully we can get those contracts over the line soon. Callum is one of them, he’s an important player and it would be good to get him tied down too. It’s important to have your core, and the core players here have been outstanding for the last three seasons

Jamesy [Forrest] has been a fundamental part of that, as has Scott [Bain], and it just gives a feel-good factor to the club when you have boys committing themselves to the club on long-term contracts. Kris Ajer is one we might look at. He’s played nearly all the games since I’ve been in and I’m very happy with him as well.

Lennon confirming that the club are in talks with CalMac and will consider a new deal for Ajer is hugely positive for Celtic.
Both McGregor and Ajer have been key figures for the Hoops and amid transfer interest in both of them, agreeing a new deal with the pair would be a fine piece of business.
