Celtic and Rangers have reportedly both been linked with a move for defender Bahlul Mustafazada, while Sunderland are also said to be plotting a January move for him.
That’s according to The Shields Gazette, who suggest that the Black Cats could make a move for the defender in the winter transfer window as they push for promotion back to the Championship.
The report also suggests both Celtic and Rangers have been linked with Mustafazada, who was described as “outstanding” by his former teammate last season, the Daily Record reported.
This season Bahlul has been outstanding for us. He only broke into the team really this season, but he’s earned his chance and gone from strength to strength and he’s been an important player for Gabala. I read about the interest about him from Celtic and I believe this would be a very good move for him.

A move to Celtic in the summer clearly failed to materialise for Mustafazada, with the Hoops opting not to make a move for the Azerbaijan international.
The 22-year-old is somewhat of an unknown quantity given how he currently plays for Sabah in the Azerbaijan Premier League, and a move in January therefore may be a risk for the Hoops.
