Celtic’s Fraser Forster has praised the club’s “absolutely amazing” Europa League campaign as the Hoops secured passage into the knockout stages.

Forster’s side secured a huge win over Lazio in the week, with Oliver Ntcham scoring a last-minute winner to secure the victory in Rome.

The win was Celtic’s first win in Italy in over 13 attempts, and Forster revealed that he was delighted with the success.

The on-loan goalkeeper said, via Sportsmole:

It is fantastic. Real credit to the lads.

From that very first game we showed what we can do and played the way we know we can play.

It is fantastic to qualify out of the group already. Absolutely amazing, fantastic result.

The circumstances and the way we did it, just makes it that bit more special.

No Celtic team had won in Italy before so it is an amazing achievement and fantastic to qualify out the group already.

Forster also revealed that Celtic will now be aiming to top their group.

That is obviously what we are going to aim for now. That’s the main thing.

We have done well to this point but we want to finish strong and yes hopefully go on and win the group.

We want to go on and win the group first and foremost and then we will park that for a bit and then carry on in the Europa League after Christmas.

We are not looking too far ahead, taking it game by game and we will see where it takes us.

The Hoops have surpassed everyone’s expectations after a superb win in Rome and secured qualification to the knockout stages in great fashion.

There is a real feel-good factor at Celtic now, especially after many doubted that Neil Lennon could lead the club back to success.

Forster and the rest of the Celtic faithful will be hoping that this is a sign of more success to come.
