Italian media outlet Gazzetta dello Sport have torn into Lazio following their 2-1 defeat to Celtic on Thursday.
Seven years on from the famous triumph over Barcelona at Parkhead, Celtic conquered Rome by the same scoreline, with James Forrest and Olivier Ntcham starring in the Victor Wanyama and Tony Watt goalscoring hero roles.
And according to Sport Witness, Gazzetta dello Sport did not waste any time in blasting Lazio for the defeat, greeting the loss with a headline that translates to ‘Another harakiri for Lazio.’

Harakiri, or Seppuku as it is more commonly known, is an old fashioned Japanese method of suicide by disembowelment, suggesting the headline is rather hyperbolic from Gazzetta dello Sport.
That being said, Lazio were put to the sword by a spirited Celtic display, and made to pay for their missed chances as the Hoops sealed their qualification for the last 32 of the Europa League.
Lazio’s chances now hang in the balance and rely on Celtic beating both CFR Cluj and Rennes in their final two games, while the Serie A side will also have to win both of their remaining games against the same opponents to stand any chance.
