Celtic have been dealt a slight blow ahead of next month’s League Cup final Glasgow Derby with Rangers, as Hatem Abd Elhamed is set to miss out.
The versatile right-back had been expected to recover from a groin issue in time for the final, after limping off in the famous 2-1 win over Lazio at the Stadio Olimpico.
However according to the Daily Record, Elhamed’s agent Dudu Dahan has reportedly confirmed that he will be sidelined for longer than the predicted three to four week period which rules him out of the final against Rangers.

News of an injury to Elhamed will certainly come as a blow for Celtic, but the form of Jeremie Frimpong means Neil Lennon has the 18-year-old to call upon for the tie.
Though it will arguably be the biggest game of his career so far, Frimpong has looked hugely impressive so far and will no doubt be eager to continue that form against Rangers.
Lennon also has Moritz Bauer waiting in the wings if he feels as though Frimpong may not be ready for a game of such magnitude, with the Stoke City loanee getting a taste of Glasgow Derby action in the 2-0 win at Ibrox.
