Norway manager Lars Lagerback has confirmed that Mohamed Elyounoussi will miss his side’s clash with Faroe Islands on Friday due to injury.

The winger had been expected to feature following his excellent run of form for Celtic, but according to Sport Witness, Lagerback confirmed to Norway’s TV2 that he will not be involved due to a foot problem.

Unfortunately for both him and us, he has a feeling of an injury in the foot. So, the outcome is that he’s not going to play [against Faroe Islands]. He’s going to leave the squad today.

Though Lagerback has confirmed the injury and that he is ruled out of Norway’s game against Faroe Islands, the extent of the problem has not yet been revealed.

Elyounoussi’s issue is serious enough for him to be sent back to Glasgow however, and the Hoops will clearly be hoping his setback will not keep him sidelined for too long.
