Celtic are monitoring the progress of Carlisle United defender Jarrad Branthwaite ahead of a potential January move for the teenager.
According to Football Insider, Celtic have scouted the 17-year-old and are said to be considering a move for him in the winter window, but the Hoops could face competition.
Aston Villa are also keen on the 6ft 4in Branthwaite while a host of Premier League and Championship sides have also scouted the teenager.
Branthwaite is the latest youngster from the EFL to be linked with a move to Celtic, with 17-year-old Gillingham goalkeeper Joe Walsh also on the Hoops’ radar.

The defender has certainly impressed for the League Two outfit this season despite their struggles, with Carlisle currently sitting in 20th in League Two.
Branthwaite has made nine appearances in all competitions including five league starts in succession, breaking into the first-team after progressing through the ranks with the Cumbrian side.
The teenager has just over 18 months remaining on his current deal with Carlisle, after signing a new contract in February earlier this year.
