Former Manchester United striker Louis Saha has revealed why he was “fuming” after Artur Boruc saved his penalty in Celtic’s famous 1-0 win over United.
The Frenchman had the chance to spoil the party late on from the spot after Shunsuke Nakamura scored that free-kick, but saw his penalty saved by the heroic Boruc.
And while he was disappointed with the miss, he was in fact “fuming” with Gary Neville who revealed the following day that he didn’t expect his teammate to score from 12 yards, the Daily Record report via FourFourTwo.
The worst memory about it is that my own team-mate, Gary Neville, actually predicted I’d miss the penalty! He said that to someone, then I read it in a newspaper – I was fuming! But with Gary, we argued a lot, so no change there.
Of course, I have to credit Celtic ‘s goalkeeper for the penalty. It was a good save!
