Christopher Jullien believes Celtic have the ability to win the Europa League this season, but the defender is focused on creating history with the Hoops and finishing top of Group E first and foremost.
Celtic have never finished top of their group in European football, but victory over Rennes on Thursday coupled with defeat for CFR Cluj would see the Hoops make history.
And according to the Herald, Jullien believes that is the first target in the Europa League.
That would be really good. We could make a bit of history and it would be good for us in terms of the draw and everything else.
We are just staying in the good moment that we are in.Even if we have qualified, it’s important to keep that going in these two games. Keep winning, keep the system, keep that winning feeling.

The defender also spoke about the possibility of winning the Europa League outright this season, and when asked if Celtic can win it, he replied:
Why not? I said it before, why not? We can believe it, because we have the group, we have the players, we have the mentality to go all the way. It would be amazing for sure for the club and everything else, but we have to focus on the next game.

Jullien’s comments are hugely positive for Celtic, as they emphasise how focused he and the rest of the squad are on ensuring they finish top of the group firstly.
Furthermore, Neil Lennon has clearly installed a belief into the players that they can win the competition, and given how impressive the Hoops have been thus far, confidence is understandably high.
Jullien and co will now be getting ready to play Rennes on Thursday and either make history depending on the Cluj result, or take a huge step towards doing so with a win.
