Report claims Arsenal will be keen to see Ajer join Leicester

Arsenal are reportedly keeping an eye on Kristoffer Ajer’s future at Celtic, as a potential move to Leicester could bolster the Gunners’ own transfer plans.

Ajer has long been linked with a move to the King Power stadium, with rumours emerging earlier this week suggesting Brendan Rodgers is still keen on making a £20million move for the defender in January.

And a potential switch to Leicester for Ajer will be of interest to Arsenal according to Read Arsenal via TEAMtalk, with the Gunners interested in Foxes defender Caglar Soyuncu.

While Arsenal may well be hoping to see Ajer make a move down south to reunite with Rodgers, Celtic will certainly be keen to keep hold of the 21-year-old in January.

Neil Lennon has already previously stated his desire to begin talks over a new contract with Ajer, with one report claiming discussions have already begun, amid interest from the likes of Leicester and Manchester United.

If offers do come in for the Norway international from Leicester in particular, Celtic must ensure they receive the best possible price for him and include a loan move for Filip Benkovic in the deal to provide immediate cover.
