Neil Lennon has responded to the rumours suggesting Lewis Morgan could be set for a loan move in January by claiming “he is an important part of the squad.”
St Mirren boss Jim Goodwin recently revealed his desire to sign Morgan on loan in the winter window, before stating that there is a “long list” of teams also interested in the winger.
However according to the Daily Record, Lennon dismissed those rumours and revealed a loan move will not be happening.
We’re not in the mood to do that. He is an important part of the squad. You can see what he brings at times, he just needs to believe in himself a little bit more and that performance against Rennes will do him the world of good in terms of his confidence.

Lennon dismissing rumours of a move away for Morgan is hardly surprising given how much the 23-year-old has featured for Celtic this season.
The winger has been in the matchday squad more often than not, and Lennon has utilised him as a striker in the last two games in Odsonne Edouard’s absence.
Morgan has impressed in both games and will now be looking to kick on this season and establish himself as a regular figure in the starting lineup.
