Neil Lennon has responded to Dan Petrescu’s comments about Celtic’s Europa League chances and suggested he takes what the CFR Cluj boss says with a pinch of salt.
According to the Daily Record, Lennon was asked what he made of Petrescu’s suggestion that Celtic can win the Europa League this season, and responded by laughing before saying:
That’s a very nice compliment. We have to play a lot of football before we can do that. What we are delighted about is having topped the group and we look forward to the Europa League in the second half of the season and make inroads.
It’s a nice compliment but coming from Dan but he’s not getting away with that so easily!

Lennon clearly recognises how Petrescu regularly makes a bold claim like this before a European tie.
And while Celtic have as good a chance as any side in the knockout stages of wining the competition, there will come a time this season where the Hoops will inevitably prioritise the league in their quest for nine and 10-in-a-row.
