Rangers to rival Celtic in race for Tyrese Campbell

Celtic look set to face competition from Rangers in the race to sign Stoke City forward Tyrese Campbell in January. 

The Hoops have recently been linked with the 19-year-old, who is said to be one of a number of striker’s on Nick Hammond’s radar.

However according to Football Insider, sources from Ibrox have revealed that Rangers are also interested in Campbell and have “set their sights” on making a move for him in January.

Campbell could prove to be an interesting signing for Celtic. The striker is said to be available for a fee in the region of £350,000 in compensation, given how he is out of contract with Stoke next summer. 

He could therefore represent a good investment, especially when you consider how Jeremie Frimpong moved to Celtic for a similar fee and has since flourished.

And Campbell has a lot more first-team experience than Frimpong had prior to his move, though the 19-year-old has not set the world alight at Stoke.
